Happy Birthday To Me!!
Wednesday, October 15th, 2008So much has changed since my last blog entry, I’m not sure if I should even bother. But here goes. When I last posted I was trying to make 200 miles in one month. It seems like several lifetimes ago–but I made it. 206 miles in fact. Whew! And my prize for that little accomplishment (besides powerful legs)? A very cool piece of art permenantly inked onto my lower back. And no, it’s not a fuck-me tat. My thanks go out to Paul at InkInc for his amazing artistry.
Anyway, these days I don’t even have a bike, so for the time being that 200 mile thing is not likely to become part of my regular monthly activites. Also I haven’t been writing much, or subbing much for that matter. I’ve had no takers at all on my most recent batch of short stories. The Neighbor’s Cat and The Martyr’s Daughter have both made the rounds of journals I thought looked interesting. Too bad, because I like them both. A new one, Eleanor Shagwell, hasn’t made it out of my computer yet. Frankly, subbing gets old after a while and I’m trying to cast off my need for external validation demon. With that I’d like to point out that my book review for the novel Revelation of Fire will be appearing in the latest edition of the Internet Review of Books, check it out.
